Beloved//See Who You Are

We all have an idea of who others say we are. We have a perception of what our friends and family say, what our co-workers say, and even who strangers sometimes say that we are. But do we have any idea of who God says we are?

Dearly Beloved, doesn't that just sound beautiful? We thank God the Father, our Lord, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit for allowing us to gather together via blog to encourage each other. Over the next few weeks our hope is that we will all see and receive the radical love of Jesus and the relentless Grace of God. That we would be encouraged to walk in the abundance of love he freely gives and that we are able to find practical ways to manifest that same love in the lives of others. That's what we have been called to do.

Live By the Word

"Man does not live by bread a lone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God." - Matthew 4:4

Each day leading up to Women's Day, let us take the challenge of spending quiet time with God and His word. Do you remember what Jesus told Martha when she complained that her sister Mary wasn't helping? Jesus told Martha that Mary was doing what was needful. Mary was sitting listening to the Word of God from the Word of God. She was learning what it meant to be called his beloved, to see herself as her Savior sat in that very moment looking at her. And all he desired was that she sit in his presence. It can be difficult to think that simply taking in the word, sitting in Jesus' presence could solve anything. However, it is needful. Not for Jesus, but for us. He will handle everything when we submit to His presence.

All He desired was that she sit in his presence.

Even Jesus prayed to the Father in the garden of Gethsemane, " Not my will, but yours be done" - Mark 14:36. We set appointments all day every day for the important things in our lives. For the important things in other people's lives that we love. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to help us do the same, to set an appointment to meet with Him each day. To give a special time to to be alone and hear from God, be it 1 min or 5 min. We don't have to say anything special to impress Him, all we need to do is speak to him like a friend, because that's exactly what he considers us.

See As He Sees

In order to get to know someone better you have to spend time with them. If we really want to see what God sees in us, we first must take time to read his Word and see what he says about who we are. Beloved, rest assured, he calls us such beautiful things. Then we have to spend time in conversation - speaking and listening. In doing so, we can receive what God wants to do in our lives and replace worry with truth. Philippians 4:6-7 in the Message Bible reminds us instead of worrying, to pray (talk and listen with God).If we will take this challenge, we will experience a sense of peace and God's wholeness, everything coming together for our good, and we will see exactly who Christ has called and created us to be. Only then can we see others around us in the same way with his love.

Love You Beloved! Have a great week and see you Wednesday.
